The weather turned out a fair bit tamer than originally forecast, and it made for some nice shooting conditions. We wandered through some of our favorite spots like Tenaya Lake, Soda Springs and the Pothole Dome area of Tuolomne Meadows. A good time to do that as there were few people around. There were construction delays on the way up and back, but it was definitely worth waiting.
Another day of avoiding the crowds on the valley floor in Yosemite. We headed to Tuolomne Grove where it turned out the dogwoods were still full of interest, and the grove of sequoias provided a fun backdrop. On the way back, we stopped at the Carlon day use area and found the interesting river flowers below.
If you haven't had the opportunity to hike during a full moon, give it a try. There's a very peaceful quality to it. Well, at least once you have gotten over maroons shouting and jumping off the iconic Jeffrey Pine on Sentinel Dome just so they can take action pics :-(.
